- Translator and Interpreter - Mental health project, Doctors without borders (MSF-F). 1.5.2017/31.10.2020
 

The mental health project in Mafraq and Irbid, aimed at providing psychological care for children under the age of 18, mainly Syrians as they have witnessed difficult life events and maybe struggling with trauma-related mental health disorders. The project was also aimed at providing psychological care for vulnerable Jordanians and other people from other nationalities.

my job was to:

 

- provide bilateral/liaison interpretation in the psychological sessions with the expat psychologist from Arabic into English and vice versa.

 

- provide phone interpreting when booking appointments for patients.

 

- provide bilateral/liaison interpretation during meetings, trainings, and general meetings.

 

- provide translation for therapeutic and training material for the staff.

  

- remain respect and clear communication with the beneficiaries.

 

- keep confidentiality with any information related to beneficiaries.

 

- provide bilateral/liaison interpretation during outreach work and home visits with the expat psychologist.

 

- provided basic training for the team about interpreting and translating in a community setting.
